Tangoquerido had invited two young Argentinian dancers to the WABO practica: Mario de Camillis and Barbara Wainnright. Their demonstrations were dynamic and skillfull, and their little act with the old milonguero couple (and that’s all I will tell – no spoilers) is original and funny.

Tango Solidario: instruments for Argentina

Nosotros organized a fundraiser two months ago, and Diego lets us know that he travelled to Argentina to buy the promised instruments and hand them over to the kids at the Orchestra School Ingeniero White.

Mario de Camillis et Barbara Wainnright in Brussels

Mario de Camillis et Barbara Wainnright
Tangoquerido has invited Mario de Camillis et Barbara Wainnright to Brussels for some workshops and a demonstration. They are two young dancers from Argentina, who started dancing together in 2009 and fared very well in the VII Tango World Championship and the VII Tango Metropolitan Championship, both in Buenos Aires. The workshops are on Friday 26 and Saturday 27 November and the demo is during the practica of Thursday 25th. More info on Tangoquerido!

Photos: Los Hermanos Macana in de Roma

Last Sunday was a big tango event at the Roma in Antwerp. Not only was Orquestra Silencio playing, The Macana brothers also were there for some cool demos.

Los Hermanos Macana are, as you could guess, two men and they take turns in leading and following. Their act alternates between high speed, highly technical tango and funny intermezzos. They have some clown talent lost between them.
