Brussels Tango Festival: projection of the best pictures 2007-2010

During the first evening of the Brussels Tango Festival (BTF), there will be a projection of photos from the previous editions. I have been going through my BTF archives from 2007 until last year and I selected some of the most beautiful, memorable or funny pictures. Quite a task and I’m still busy doing it.

Here are some samples:

Tango Antwerp Festival

Here are some pictures from the Tango Antwerp Festival this weekend. It all started with a solo performance by Gisele Avanzi, thereby dedicating this festival to the late Osvaldo Zotto.

Tango Antwerp Festival 2010: 21-24 May

It’s been a while since there was a real big tango festival in Antwerp, but next month there will be a special one: “Tribute to Osvaldo Zotto – Tango Antwerp Festival 2010“.
Tango Antwerp Festival 2010

As you can see from the name, the festival has been dedicated to the recently deceased and much loved Osvaldo Zotto, who was supposed to perform at the festival. Instead, the festival opens with a solo from Gisele Avanzi, his last dance partner, and will also feature maestros like Roberto Herrera, Alejandra Mantiñan, Aoniken Quiroga, Frank Obregón, Jenny Gil, Anibal Lautaro, Valeria Maside, Mariano & Cosima Dias Campos, Lautaro Cancela and Lucila Segura. Music from the well-known orchestras Ensemble Hyperion, Tango 02, Mabel Gonzalez & Trio Herman Ruis and the DJs Felix Picerna, Francesco El Actor (Ar), Nettie & El Karangatang (NL).
Put it in your agendas: Friday May 21st until Monday May 24th, it’s festival time in Antwerp!

Brussels Tango Festival: visiting photographers

Of course I was not the only one with a camera on the festival. There were other shooters, pro or semi-pro, from all over Europe who also tried to capture the magic on film. Here are some of their best pictures:

Brussels Tango Festival: wrap-up

Brussels Tango Festival: closing milonga @ Maalbeek

This was the 6th edition of the Brussels Tango Festival and every year it seems to get better. The organisation of the festival was impeccable, the maestros were impressive, the venues were excellent, the DJs rocked and the dancing was finger-lickin’ good. Also, I’m quite happy with the pictures I took. I was privileged to capture quite a lot of beauty on pixel. I was not alone either: Arndt, Lucien, Ishka, Lilia, Wicky and others also took great pictures.

So I’d like to thank:
