Tango Orchestra Préau
Orchestra week in Burgundy, a few spots remaining, especially for bandoneon and accordion
From July 25 to August 1, the Tango Orchestra Week takes place in Préau (Burgundy, France).
Throughout the week, we work on the classical repertoire of the great tango orchestras of Buenos Aires, alongside music by Astor Piazzolla.
We play in an orchestra of 18 musicians, with daily rehearsals in a hall overlooking the valley. The group is largely formed; the remaining spots are filling up.
During the week, we focus on the core elements of Argentine tango: rhythm, phrasing, articulation and ensemble playing. Through rehearsals and playing together, the style gradually takes shape. For experienced players, this offers refinement and depth; for newcomers, a clear and practical introduction to the genre.
Instruments: bandoneon, accordion, violin, viola, cello, flute, (electric) guitar, piano and double bass
Open spots for: bandoneon, accordion, (jazz/electric) guitar, cello or low winds (clarinet/bassoon)
A tango dance course is also offered on site.
