Why was Di Sarli always wearing black glasses ?
He was shotgunned in the eye when he was young !
It happened in the gun shop of his father. Apparently an assistant was cleaning a weapon and a bullet was shot in the eye of the young Di Sarli.
He lost his eye and it was replaced by a crystal one. He then used to wear dark glasses to cover the bad eye.
Another version says that he shot himself because of a woman …
The dark round glasses became a complete part of the style and character of Di Sarli, called El señor del Tango, but also sometimes called “El tuerco” : “One-eyed”
