Which musicians are considered the “big 4†in tango ?
The answer is CARLOS DI SARLI, OSVALDO PUGLIESE, ANIBAL TROILO AND JUAN D’ARIENZO
These four musicians are considered the four most important in Tango. All of them have brought something very unique to this music and have each their very personal style.
Each of them has a nickname : Carlos Di Sarli is called “el señor del tango“ (the gentleman of Tango), Pugliese is now named San Pugliese (Saint Pugliese), Anibal Troilo is Pichuco or “El gordo” (the fat guy) and Juan D’Arienzo “El rey del compas” (The king of rhythm).
