The tango intrigues you, you have a passion for it, you would like to try it yourself: why not give it a try? Whether it’s a class or a dance class, if you enjoy a creative and social activity, it’s never too late to get started.
Tango is one of the few dances that is accessible to everyone indiscriminately. Don’t be afraid because every step is imaginable, just let the music and passion guide you. You will be guided by experienced and equally passionate teachers.

We teach simple, elegant, musical and playful ideas to be used on the social dance floor with floorcraft into consideration! We try to give plenty of personal attention !

About the class: 

Astria’s class starts with a warm up focusing on improving a healthy and strong technical base of the body, from there working on essential movements of Tango and leading up to some fun embellishments and little combinations 🙂 

About Astria: 

Sarita Apel was born in Wiesbaden, Germany. She received her Bachelor of Dance in 2011 at Codarts, Rotterdam Dance Academy. Receiving several scholarships, she went on to study at The Ailey School in NYC.

She continued her career in New York, where she danced with Graham 2, ARIM Dance, the CR Dance Company, FJK Dance, Dardo Galletto Dance, Accent Dance NYC, Alpha Omega Theatrical Dance Company and other projects. In 2016 she has started dancing and performing Argentine Tango, winning the 2019 US Argentine Tango Championships. She toured the US with the show Tango Argentina, performed at the annual Tango show of the Thalia Spanish Theater, and Luis Bravo’s show “Cuparsita”, at several prestigious Milongas, including the Salon Canning in Buenos Aires and has also directed her own show, 3 Esquinas Tango Show.  

Since 2023 she relocated back to Europe, where she has since been teaching and performing Modern Dance and Argentine Tango, together with Mariano Galeano. Recently, Astria was part of the opera production "Maria De Buenos Aires" at the Pfalztheater Kaiserslautern as dancer and choreographer and also is performing with the show "We Call It Tango" produce

Get ready for Tango al Mediodía every Wednesday!

All you need are your tango shoes and maybe a dance partner. Right now, we especially need more ladies who follow to join us on the dance floor! It’s a social practica where you can enjoy the magic of tango. Some playlists (depending on the mood) will play, and we’ll be dancing to classic tango tunes.

With a lively atmosphere, a perfect dance floor, and the beauty of daylight, it’s the ultimate tango experience to help you improve your moves while having fun.

Ce sont les vacances !!!! Un moment idéal pour des stages exceptionnels ! À la demande générale, voici non seulement deux stages, mais aussi… un petit débat sociétal ;-p

(Si le débat ne vous passionne pas, filez directement en bas pour les infos pratiques ! Je ne le prendrai pas personnellement... et je ne serai même pas au courant 😉)

Leaders et followers ? Hommes et femmes ?

Aujourd’hui, dans notre société occidentale, hommes et femmes échangent leurs rôles avec fluidité, sans préjugés. Certains courants "anti-patriarcaux" proposent d’appeler les rôles "Leaders" et "Followers". Je comprends l'intention, mais cela me pose deux problèmes :

Le tango est une danse populaire du Río de la Plata, et je refuse d’en changer la langue d’origine : le castillan. (Personne n’aurait l'idée d'appeler un "relevé" de danse classique en anglais, n’est-ce pas ?)

Leader et Follower, en anglais, portent une charge de domination/soumission plus forte que les simples mots "Homme" et "Femme". Dans le tango, "Homme-Femme" est une construction sociale, certes, mais dénuée de cette hiérarchie.

D'ailleurs, oui, j’ai écrit "Hommes-Femmes" dans le titre de cette newsletter… pour des raisons de marketing (eh oui 😅). Cela me dérange un peu, car cela ne reflète pas toute la réalité.

Mon "appellation" idéale ? Par respect pour la culture et la réalité du tango, j'aimerais qu’on parle plutôt de :

Rôle Traditionnel de l’Homme (RTH)

Rôle Traditionnel de la Femme (RTF)

...mais, on est d’accord : c’est un peu long sur une affiche !

Dans mes cours, j’ai donc commencé à utiliser les termes : "Compositores" (Compositeurs) et "Intérpretes" (Interprètes). Cette analogie musicale me plaît énormément : elle évoque l’idée d’un orchestre, d'une œuvre cocréée, comme notre beau tango adoré. En plus, en espagnol, ces noms sont non genrés.

Bref : Je pense sincèrement que "RTH" et "RTF" pourraient devenir nos appellations d’origine contrôlée du tango !

Et vous, qu’en pensez-vous ? (Bon, je l’avoue… fidèle à mon tempérament argentin, un peu "démocrature", je ne vous avais pas trop laissé la place au débat ... 😆)

Les mardi et mercredi, 2 nouvelles séries pour débutants sont proposées:
- le mardi soir à 20h30
- le mercredi soir à 19h
Un groupe démarre sous réserve d'un minimum de 5 couples inscrits. Si vous voulez participer à une de ces séries, n'hésitez donc surtout pas à réserver à temps (faute de quoi la série pourrait ne pas démarrer).
Le premier cours de la série peut servir d'essai, pour décider ensuite si vous voulez prendre un abonnement.
Vous pouvez venir en couple ou en single. Si vous venez seul(e) nous essayons de trouver un(e) partenaire pour vous. Envoyez-nous votre taille, âge et niveau de Français et Anglais.

À Buenos Aires, il est un des professeurs le plus suivis et le plus constant. Comme danseur, sa personnalité hors pair a fait école. Les meilleures danseuses du monde l'ont choisi pour se produire avec lui. Professeur de professeurs, il est jury au mondial de Tango et il forme des professionnels. Il est au Top.

La plupart d'entre vous le connaissent et l'adorent ! Demian nous a visité tellement de fois. Son passage ne nous a jamais laissé indemnes. Notre tango exulte dans sa présence. Oui ! Je n'exagère pas et ma joie est indicible. Il a l'habitude de venir au moins 15 jours, mais cette fois, sa visite sera fugace 🙁 autant vous dire : profitons un maximum !!!

Pour ceux qui ne le connaissent pas, tout d'abord : Demian est le garçon de la photo 🙂 de notre site, de notre FB, de la chaine YouTube... He is the man of the poster ! Nous l'appelons notre "Petit-Prince". Son élégance, sa pédagogie, son savoir-être ont fait de lui un partenaire et un ami incontournables. Son passage façonne notre style, notre regard sur le tango. Il danse le Tango vals comme personne, son tango est bluffant et sa milonga regorge de complicité. J'adore danser et travailler avec lui. Je n'insisterai jamais assez : il est galactique (comme le Petit Prince lui-même, sa belle Rose et son baobab) et, quand il danse, on dirait de la poésie (comme ce livre très connu... d'un tel Saint Exupery) Hihihiihhih.

À Buenos Aires, il est un des professeurs le plus suivis et le plus constant. Comme danseur, sa personnalité hors pair a fait école. Les meilleures danseuses du monde l'ont choisi pour se produire avec lui. Professeur de professeurs, il est jury au mondial de Tango et il forme des professionnels. Il est au Top.

Bref, si vous ne le connaissez pas, il en vaut le détour.

Followed by a short milonga

Enjoy a vibrant Argentine evening featuring music by the duo Gerardo Agnese & Diego Espindola and guitarist Carlos Pavan.

Gerardo Agnese & Diego Espindola blend an acoustic sound with a persistent canyengue rhythm, taking you on a journey through tango’s rich history — from the guardia vieja era to contemporary styles. Their repertoire includes danceable tangos, waltzes, milongas, and Argentine folk music.

Carlos Pavan, an Argentine composer based in New York, combines tango and folk rhythms with jazz and classical elements. He has recorded four albums, collaborating with string quartets, chamber ensembles, and trio concert formats.

Tango dancers from Bailongo//Detangosetrata will add to the festive ambiance, and at the end of the evening, you're warmly invited to join them on the dance floor.

After the performance, treat yourself to freshly made empanadas by Pepe Empanadas.

Pré-Milonga Semi-private Tango Coaching by Marisa y Oliver

In 2024 & 2025 also, Marisa y Oliver will propose their Semi-Private Tango coachings in La Tangueria, an original personal concept they created in 2018 and have been successfully teaching since then.
These coachings are organised for minimum 3 and maximum 6 couples.
La Tangueria proposes a monthly coaching session, before LA Milonga del Domingo on the 4th Sunday of the month.
Small groups of tango dancers (min. 3 couples), can also get together and ask for a special Semi-Private coaching for them upon appointment.

=> The Tango coaching session is an original LA TANGUERIA concept half-way between a private class and a group workshop. We work with min. 3 to max. 6 couples, to be able to give a maximum of personal feed-back and corrections to each participant.
Although we always start from a tango movement to work, the aim is more to "coach" the participants in their personal dance. Like in a private class, we work on the posture, connection, leading, following, musicality, technique, refinement, aestetics, etc. rather than teaching a complex figure.
Participants can also propose a theme or subject they would like to work.
Level: all levels interested in this coaching session, minimum 6 months tango required (unless the whole group is beginner).

Venez découvrir, explorer et approfondir le tango. Vous apprendrez progressivement les mouvements, les secrets de la communication et la musicalité qui font le tango argentin traditionnel. Un moment de communauté où les corps s’expriment et se relient au sol, à la musique, au corps de l’autre et à l’entourage des autres couples. Nous sommes des danseurs et des professeurs argentins. Vous n’avez pas besoin de venir en couple. Nous vous attendons.

Chaque cours coûte 12 euro/pers.

La carte de 10 cours coûte 100 euro/pers. Pour que ton tango coule.  

Vení a descubrir, explorar y profundizar el tango. Vas a aprender de forma progresiva los movimientos, los secretos de comunicación y la musicalidad que hacen el tango argentino tradicional. Come to discover, explore and deepen the tango. You will progressively learn the movements, the secrets of communication and the musicality that make the traditional Argentine tango. A moment of community where the bodies express themselves and relate to the floor, the music, each other’s body and the other couples. We are Argentinean dancers and teachers. You don’t need to come as a couple. We will be waiting for you.
