The tango intrigues you, you have a passion for it, you would like to try it yourself: why not give it a try? Whether it’s a class or a dance class, if you enjoy a creative and social activity, it’s never too late to get started.
Tango is one of the few dances that is accessible to everyone indiscriminately. Don’t be afraid because every step is imaginable, just let the music and passion guide you. You will be guided by experienced and equally passionate teachers.

We teach simple, elegant, musical and playful ideas to be used on the social dance floor with floorcraft into consideration! We try to give plenty of personal attention !

Beginners: (1,10 h)
15€ for a separate lesson. Participation at the milonga is 5€ instead of 7€

Nous enseignons le tango comme une nouvelle langue. On commence par l'alphabet, puis vous apprenez les mots et les phrases, pour écrire un jour des poèmes et chansons. Venez découvrir, explorer et approfondir le tango. Vous apprendrez progressivement les mouvements, les secrets de la communication et la musicalité qui font le tango argentin traditionnel. Un moment de communauté où les corps s’expriment et se relient au sol, à la musique, au corps de l’autre et à l’entourage des autres couples. Nous sommes des danseurs et des professeurs argentins. Vous n’avez pas besoin de venir en couple. Nous vous attendons.

Chaque cours coûte 12 euro/pers.

La carte de 10 cours coûte 100 euro/pers. Pour que ton tango coule.  

Vení a descubrir, explorar y profundizar el tango. Vas a aprender de forma progresiva los movimientos, los secretos de comunicación y la musicalidad que hacen el tango argentino tradicional. Un momento de comunidad donde los cuerpos se expresan y se relacionan con el piso, la música, el cuerpo del otro y el entorno de las otras parejas. Somos bailarines y profesores argentinos. No hace falta venir en pareja. Los esperamos.

Come to discover, explore and deepen the tango. You will progressively learn the movements, the secrets of communication and the musicality that make the traditional Argentine tango. A moment of community where the bodies express themselves and relate to the floor, the music, each other’s body and the other couples. We are Argentinean dancers and teachers. You don’t need to come as a couple. We will be waiting for you.

About the class: 

Astria’s class starts with a warm up focusing on improving a healthy and strong technical base of the body, from there working on essential movements of Tango and leading up to some fun embellishments and little combinations 🙂 

About Astria: 

Sarita Apel was born in Wiesbaden, Germany. She received her Bachelor of Dance in 2011 at Codarts, Rotterdam Dance Academy. Receiving several scholarships, she went on to study at The Ailey School in NYC.

She continued her career in New York, where she danced with Graham 2, ARIM Dance, the CR Dance Company, FJK Dance, Dardo Galletto Dance, Accent Dance NYC, Alpha Omega Theatrical Dance Company and other projects. In 2016 she has started dancing and performing Argentine Tango, winning the 2019 US Argentine Tango Championships. She toured the US with the show Tango Argentina, performed at the annual Tango show of the Thalia Spanish Theater, and Luis Bravo’s show “Cuparsita”, at several prestigious Milongas, including the Salon Canning in Buenos Aires and has also directed her own show, 3 Esquinas Tango Show.  

Since 2023 she relocated back to Europe, where she has since been teaching and performing Modern Dance and Argentine Tango, together with Mariano Galeano. Recently, Astria was part of the opera production "Maria De Buenos Aires" at the Pfalztheater Kaiserslautern as dancer and choreographer and also is performing with the show "We Call It Tango" produce

Get ready for Tango al Mediodía every Wednesday!

All you need are your tango shoes and maybe a dance partner. Right now, we especially need more ladies who follow to join us on the dance floor! It’s a social practica where you can enjoy the magic of tango. Some playlists (depending on the mood) will play, and we’ll be dancing to classic tango tunes.

With a lively atmosphere, a perfect dance floor, and the beauty of daylight, it’s the ultimate tango experience to help you improve your moves while having fun.

Op zaterdag 3 mei organiseren we op dezelfde locatie een sfeervolle Milonga, vanaf 19:30 uur.
 TDJ Daniel Schallenbergh zal ons die avond verwennen met een zorgvuldig gekozen selectie traditionele tangomuziek.

Zoals steeds waarderen we het enorm als de hoffelijkheid op de dansvloer wordt gerespecteerd — dus vlot doorstromen in de ronda en uitnodigen via cabeceo y mirada.

Stages Technique Hommes & Femmes
Ce sont les vacances !!!! Un moment idéal pour des stages exceptionnels ! À la demande générale, voici non seulement deux stages, mais aussi… un petit débat sociétal ;-p

(Si le débat ne vous passionne pas, filez directement en bas pour les infos pratiques ! Je ne le prendrai pas personnellement... et je ne serai même pas au courant 😉)

Leaders et followers ? Hommes et femmes ?

Aujourd’hui, dans notre société occidentale, hommes et femmes échangent leurs rôles avec fluidité, sans préjugés. Certains courants "anti-patriarcaux" proposent d’appeler les rôles "Leaders" et "Followers". Je comprends l'intention, mais cela me pose deux problèmes :

Le tango est une danse populaire du Río de la Plata, et je refuse d’en changer la langue d’origine : le castillan. (Personne n’aurait l'idée d'appeler un "relevé" de danse classique en anglais, n’est-ce pas ?)

Leader et Follower, en anglais, portent une charge de domination/soumission plus forte que les simples mots "Homme" et "Femme". Dans le tango, "Homme-Femme" est une construction sociale, certes, mais dénuée de cette hiérarchie.

D'ailleurs, oui, j’ai écrit "Hommes-Femmes" dans le titre de cette newsletter… pour des raisons de marketing (eh oui 😅). Cela me dérange un peu, car cela ne reflète pas toute la réalité.

Mon "appellation" idéale ? Par respect pour la culture et la réalité du tango, j'aimerais qu’on parle plutôt de :

Rôle Traditionnel de l’Homme (RTH)

Rôle Traditionnel de la Femme (RTF)

...mais, on est d’accord : c’est un peu long sur une affiche !

Dans mes cours, j’ai donc commencé à utiliser les termes : "Compositores" (Compositeurs) et "Intérpretes" (Interprètes). Cette analogie musicale me plaît énormément : elle évoque l’idée d’un orchestre, d'une œuvre cocréée, comme notre beau tango adoré. En plus, en espagnol, ces noms sont non genrés.

Bref : Je pense sincèrement que "RTH" et "RTF" pourraient devenir nos appellations d’origine contrôlée du tango !

Et vous, qu’en pensez-vous ? (Bon, je l’avoue… fidèle à mon tempérament argentin, un peu "démocrature", je ne vous avais pas trop laissé la place au débat ... 😆)

Les mardi et mercredi, 2 nouvelles séries pour débutants sont proposées (9 cours de 80 minutes):
- le mardi soir à 20h30

Un groupe démarre sous réserve d'un minimum de 5 couples inscrits. Si vous voulez participer à une de ces séries, n'hésitez donc surtout pas à réserver à temps (faute de quoi la série pourrait ne pas démarrer).
Le premier cours de la série peut servir d'essai, pour décider ensuite si vous voulez prendre un abonnement.
Vous pouvez venir en couple ou en single. Si vous venez seul(e) nous essayons de trouver un(e) partenaire pour vous. Envoyez-nous votre taille, âge et niveau de Français et Anglais.
Si vous avez déjà une connaissance des bases, il y a moyen de rejoindre un autre cours le dimanche après midi, ou le mardi ou mercredi soir.

Tuesday and Wednesday: 2 new series for beginners (9 lessons of 80 minutes each):

A group starts with a minimum of 5 registered couples. So if you'd like to take part in one of these series, don't hesitate to book early (otherwise the series may not start).
The first class in the series can be used as a trial, and you can then decide whether to take a longer subscription.
You can come in couples or as a single. If you come alone, we'll try to find a partner for you. Send us your height, age and level of French and English.
If you already have a basic knowledge of tango, you can join another class on Sunday afternoon, or on Tuesday or Wednesday evening.

Op dinsdag en woensdag starten we 2 nieuwe reeksen voor beginners (9 lessen van 80 minuten elk):

Een groep begint bij minimaal 5 ingeschreven paren. Als je wilt deelnemen aan een van deze series, aarzel dan niet om vroeg te reserveren (anders start de serie misschien niet).
De eerste les in de reeks kan gebruikt worden als proefles, waarna je kunt beslissen of je een abonnement neemt.
Andere proeflessen zijn beschikbaar voor degenen die de start van de reeks missen:
Je kunt in koppel of alleen komen. Als je single komt zoeken we een partner voor je. Stuur ons je lengte, leeftijd en niveau van Frans en Engels.
Wie al een basiskennis heeft, kan deel nemen aan een andere les op zondagmiddag of dinsdag- of woensdagavond.

Guillermo Fernendez: Hes its beginnings: He made his television debut at the age of five, in 1963, joining a children's choir on Channel 7 Argentina.
In 1969, at the age of eleven, he joined the cast of Grandes Valores del Tango, a television program directed by Juan Carlos Thorry and featuring Tito Lusiardo. There, he met some of the greatest figures in urban music: Aníbal Troilo, Roberto Grela, Juan Carlos Copes, Roberto Goyeneche, among others, with whom he furthered his musical training.

In 1986, during a trip to New York, he won a CBS television competition. This opened the door to the American market. He performed in Las Vegas and signed a contract with Sony Music.

In 1998, he returned to Argentina and to tango. He toured Japan four times, accompanied by José Colángelo's orchestra. He starred in the musicals María de Buenos Aires, by Astor Piazzolla and Horacio Ferrer, performed in Paris and throughout Argentina, and Lo que me costo el amor de Laura, by Alejandro Dolina.

Guillermo Fernendez : Ses débuts : Il a fait ses débuts à la télévision à l'âge de cinq ans, en 1963, en rejoignant une chorale d'enfants sur la chaîne 7 Argentine. En 1969, à l'âge de onze ans, il rejoint le casting de Grandes Valores del Tango, un programme télévisé réalisé par Juan Carlos Thorry et mettant en vedette Tito Lusiardo. Là, il rencontre quelques-unes des plus grandes figures de la musique urbaine : Aníbal Troilo, Roberto Grela, Juan Carlos Copes, Roberto Goyeneche, entre autres, avec lesquels il approfondit sa formation musicale. En 1986, lors d'un voyage à New York, il remporte un concours télévisé de CBS. Cela a ouvert la porte au marché américain. Il s'est produit à Las Vegas et a signé un contrat avec Sony Music. En 1998, il revient en Argentine et au tango. Il a fait quatre tournées au Japon, accompagné de l'orchestre de José Colángelo. Il a joué dans les comédies musicales María de Buenos Aires, d'Astor Piazzolla et Horacio Ferrer, jouées à Paris et dans toute l'Argentine, et Lo que me costo el amor de Laura, d'Alejandro Dolina.

We vieren 20 jaar samen dansen, 15 jaar wonen in België en nog veel meer jaren tango. Wij vieren het met grote orkesten en beroemde tango-artiesten in Brussel, in samenwerking met La Cellule.

Guillermo Fernendez: Hij beleefde zijn beginjaren op televisie: hij maakte zijn televisiedebuut op vijfjarige leeftijd, in 1963, toen hij zich aansloot bij een kinderkoor op Channel 7 Argentina. In 1969, op elfjarige leeftijd, sloot hij zich aan bij de cast van Grandes Valores del Tango, een televisieprogramma geregisseerd door Juan Carlos Thorry met Tito Lusiardo in de hoofdrol. Daar ontmoette hij enkele van de grootste figuren uit de urban music: Aníbal Troilo, Roberto Grela, Juan Carlos Copes, Roberto Goyeneche en anderen, bij wie hij zijn muzikale opleiding voortzette. In 1986 won hij tijdens een reis naar New York een televisiewedstrijd van CBS. Hiermee werd de deur naar de Amerikaanse markt geopend. Hij trad op in Las Vegas en tekende een contract bij Sony Music. Don't miss this unique event in Belgium, featuring these European and Russian Tango Champions, multiple Finalists of the Mundial Tango Escenario and Pista. But Olga and Dmitriy are not only fantastic stage dancers, but they also are famous for their didactic skills and teaching experience.

Nous enseignons le tango comme une nouvelle langue. On commence par l'alphabet, puis vous apprenez les mots et les phrases, pour écrire un jour des poèmes et chansons. A chaque cours nous revoyons les bases des cours précédents pour construire votre répertoire pas par pas, sans vous remplir la tête de figures que vous oubliez après quelque temps car vous n'avez pas le temps de les intégrer.

A group starts with a minimum of 5 registered couples. So if you'd like to take part in one of these series, don't hesitate to book early (otherwise the series may not start).
The first class in the series can be used as a trial, and you can then decide whether to take a longer subscription.
You can come in couples or as a single. If you come alone, we'll try to find a partner for you. Send us your height, age and level of French and English.
If you already have a basic knowledge of tango, you can join another class on Sunday afternoon, or on Tuesday or Wednesday evening.

Op dinsdag en woensdag starten we 2 nieuwe reeksen voor beginners:
- Dinsdagavond om 20.30 uur

Een groep begint bij minimaal 5 ingeschreven paren. Als je wilt deelnemen aan een van deze series, aarzel dan niet om vroeg te reserveren (anders start de serie misschien niet).
De eerste les in de reeks kan gebruikt worden als proefles, waarna je kunt beslissen of je een abonnement neemt.
Andere proeflessen zijn beschikbaar voor degenen die de start van de reeks missen:
Je kunt in koppel of alleen komen. Als je single komt zoeken we een partner voor je. Stuur ons je lengte, leeftijd en niveau van Frans en Engels.
Wie al een basiskennis heeft, kan deel nemen aan een andere les op zondagmiddag of dinsdag- of woensdagavond.

Onze lessen staan erom bekend dat ze duidelijk, gestructureerd en effectief zijn, zodat je vanaf het begin de juiste techniek leert en echte vooruitgang boekt in deze rijke en creatieve dans. La plupart d'entre vous le connaissent et l'adorent ! Demian nous a visité tellement de fois. Son passage ne nous a jamais laissé indemnes. Notre tango exulte dans sa présence. Oui ! Je n'exagère pas et ma joie est indicible. Il a l'habitude de venir au moins 15 jours, mais cette fois, sa visite sera fugace 🙁 autant vous dire : profitons un maximum !!!

Pour ceux qui ne le connaissent pas, tout d'abord : Demian est le garçon de la photo 🙂 de notre site, de notre FB, de la chaine YouTube... He is the man of the poster ! Nous l'appelons notre "Petit-Prince". Son élégance, sa pédagogie, son savoir-être ont fait de lui un partenaire et un ami incontournables. Son passage façonne notre style, notre regard sur le tango. Il danse le Tango vals comme personne, son tango est bluffant et sa milonga regorge de complicité. J'adore danser et travailler avec lui. Je n'insisterai jamais assez : il est galactique (comme le Petit Prince lui-même, sa belle Rose et son baobab) et, quand il danse, on dirait de la poésie (comme ce livre très connu... d'un tel Saint Exupery) Hihihiihhih.

À Buenos Aires, il est un des professeurs le plus suivis et le plus constant. Comme danseur, sa personnalité hors pair a fait école. Les meilleures danseuses du monde l'ont choisi pour se produire avec lui. Professeur de professeurs, il est jury au mondial de Tango et il forme des professionnels. Il est au Top.

Bref, si vous ne le connaissez pas, il en vaut le détour.

Une série de stages Tango, Milonga et Vals sont prévus. Une grande milonga dans notre superbe salle Het Huys et une démo-improvisation. Voici quelques vidéos.

La musique de Piazzolla a révolutionné le tango traditionnel dans un nouveau style appelé nuevo tango, incorporant des éléments du jazz et de la musique classique et les poèmes surréalistes du poète uruguayen Horacio Ferrer parmi d'autres écrivains bien connus. Le programme comprend certaines des musiques les plus connues et les plus appréciées de Piazzolla, Chiquilín de Bachin, Balada para un Loco et Balada para mi Muerte, ainsi que des chansons rarement interprétées telle que La Misma Pena avec des paroles d'Homere Exposito. Daniel, Philippe et Fabian emmèneront le public dans un voyage musical de crescendos émotionnels, d'apogées extatiques et de descentes mélancoliques, entrecoupé de narration racontant l'histoire de la vie et des chansons d'Astor Piazzolla.
