Every Tuesday evening in summer (July-August) since 2001 we are dancing on a beautiful spot with vue on the river Schelde. Wooden outdoor dance floor  240 m2, bar, perfect sound, DJ Jaak. Lockers are provided. We are dancing rain or shine. When the weather is too bad, we take refuge indoors, in the adjacent hangar.

The evening starts with an initiation, followed by a demo by one of the 9 participating tango schools. Milonga starts at 20:30.

Special Tango Coaching sessions by Marisa & Oliver

=> The Tango coaching session is a new concept half-way between a private class and a group workshop.
We work with a maximum of 6 couples to be able to give more personal feed-back and corrections to each of them. Although we can propose a movement for each level, the aim is more to "coach" the participants in their personal tango dance. Like in a private class, we will work on the posture, connection, leading, following, musicality, technique, refinement, etc. rather than teaching a new figure. Participants can of course also propose a theme or subject they would like to work.

Level: all levels interested in this coaching session, minimum 6 months tango required.

Prices:
Coaching session by Oliver & Marisa: 30€ pp

NB: Reservation of the coaching is compulsory via info@tangueria.be. We advise to book early as places are very limited.

Séances spéciales de coaching de tango par Marisa et Oliver
=> Le Tango coaching est un nouveau concept à mi-chemin entre un cours privé et un atelier de groupe.
Nous travaillons avec un maximum de 6 couples pour pouvoir donner plus de feedback personnel et corrections à chacun d'eux. Bien que nous proposons un mouvement comme point de départ pour tout le groupe, l'objectif est plus de "coacher" les participants dans leur danse de tango personnel. Comme dans un cours privé, nous travaillerons sur la posture, la connexion, le guidage, l'écoute, la musicalité, la technique, le raffinement, etc. plutôt que d'enseigner une nouvelle figure. Singles who don't have a dancing partner yet can be put in touch with each-other to register together. Therefore, please send your profile (age, height, languages) to info@tangueria.be.

These trial classes are free, but REGISTRATION IS RECOMMENDED, as the number of places is limited and we try to guarantee the balace leaders/Followers. Please register only via info@tangueria.be (your presence on facebook is not a formal registration).

As of September, two new series of weekly INITIATION classes will be proposed in La Tangueria:

These classes are experienced as very tranformative due to the nature of the methodology which you can find back on www.tarquino.be - It is becoming aware of those elements and tools which your need, what the priorities are of integration and which ones are inhibiting your progression.

Two hours full of;

1) Warming up, linear and circular movements with change of focus and energy, combined with adornos and change of weight.

2)Working on the development of the communication channel of the embrace, from open to close embrace with various changing directions and dynamics.

3)Development of the dissociation, preparation, discharging energy.

4)Continiuous interchanging practice in group and one-on-one with the teacher.

These courses are for everyone who really wants to develop him/her self as a dancer. Every level of dancer is welcome as interactions are learned and coached on individual possibilities and development.

Tango is for everybody: singles and couples, young and old, managers and students: if you can walk, you can learn to dance tango. The classes are taught in English and French. The teachers also speak Dutch, Italian, Spanish, German.

No previous dancing experience is needed, nor any special outfit or shoes. Just come as you want and discover the magic of tango!

Tango is for everybody: singles and couples, young and old, managers and students: if you can walk, you can learn to dance tango. Tango is a healthy and creative way to keep your body and mind in shape... as such a valid and non-competititve alternative to sports and fitness. And you will meet lots of new friends to go out with!

The classes are taught in English and French. The teachers also speak Dutch, Italian, Spanish, German.

COME AS YOU ARE!
No previous dancing experience is needed, nor any special outfit or shoes. Just come as you want and discover the magic of tango!

Singles who don't have a dancing partner yet can be put in touch with each-other to register together. Therefore, please send your profile (age, height, languages) to info@tangueria.be.

These trial classes are free, but REGISTRATION IS RECOMMENDED, as the number of places is limited and we try to guarantee the balace leaders/Followers. Please register only via info@tangueria.be (your presence on facebook is not a formal registration).

As of September, two new series of weekly INITIATION classes will be proposed in La Tangueria:
- on Monday from 19h till 20h10 by Gaia & Daan;
- on Wednesday from 20h50 till 22h by Ana & Victor.

Initiated beginners can follow a 1a class in La Tangueria Simonis on Wednesdays from 19h till 20h10.

Prices: 60€ pp for 5 x 70 minutes (students: 50€).

La practica du mercredi midi, qui commence à 12h30 et termine à 14h30, est une occasion parfaite pour utiliser le temps de midi pour pratiquer et améliorer notre tango, pour revoir des pas qui n’ont pas été fixés ou encore afin de stabiliser des améliorations techniques que nous sommes en train d’introduire dans notre danse. C’est aussi l’occasion de rencontrer des nouveaux et nouvelles danseurs et danseuses dans un contexte plus intime et familial que celui d’une milonga. Entre 12h45 et 13h45 les professeurs Jessica et Sergio assumeront un rôle actif dans la practica : en répondant à des questions, en aidant à résoudre des problèmes, en donnant des conseilles sur l’exécution d’un mouvement ou sur la technique, en intervenant afin d’améliorer l’interprétation d’une figure.
Notre chef Dominique préparera pour nous des excellents repas : tapas, salades, soupes, sandwiches et tartines.
Le prix de la practica est 6 euros.
Le prix du repas changera en fonction du menu du jour.

The practica of Wednesday lunchtime, which begins at 12:30 pm and ends at 2:30 pm, is a perfect opportunity to use the lunch time to practice and improve our tango, to review steps that have not been fixed or to stabilize technical improvements that we are introducing into our dance. It is also an opportunity to meet new dancers in a more intimate and family context than a milonga. Between 12:45 and 13:45 professors Jessica and Sergio will take an active role in the practice: answering questions, helping to solve problems, giving advice on the execution of a movement or on the technique, intervening to improve the interpretation of a figure.
Our chef Dominique will prepare excellent meals for us: tapas, salads, soups, sandwiches and sandwiches.
The price of the practice is 6 euros.
The price of the meal will change depending on the menu of the day.

These classes are experienced as very tranformative due to the nature of the methodology which you can find back on www.tarquino.be - It is becoming aware of those elements and tools which your need, what the priorities are of integration and which ones are inhibiting your progression.

Two hours full of;

1) Warming up, linear and circular movements with change of focus and energy, combined with adornos and change of weight.

2)Working on the development of the communication channel of the embrace, from open to close embrace with various changing directions and dynamics.

3)Development of the dissociation, preparation, discharging energy.

4)Continiuous interchanging practice in group and one-on-one with the teacher.

These courses are for everyone who really wants to develop him/her self as a dancer. Every level of dancer is welcome as interactions are learned and coached on individual possibilities and development.

2 hrs./40 euro's.

This initiation (also on 20/09) is short before the start of the new (beginners)classes. 

We learn you how to walk, and a very basic structure for a tango dance. The class is non-stop assisted by Lieve & Gerdy. Every couple is supported so everyone can join in. Booking you can do upfront. But don’t forget bringing your dance partner!

Milonga / tango-salon met muziek-playlist

10 jaar geleden, op 9 september 2009 , werd El Centro boven de doopvont gehouden door de oprichters ervan: Pierre de Haan en Simonne Lemmens,onder het peterschap van Mariano Galiano en Paula Ruben.

Pierre en Simonne waren al geroutineerde Buenos Aireskenners op dat moment.

Het allereerste salon stak die dag van wal op de toenmalige thuisbasis: Casa 32 te Borgerhout.

Terwijl dat Pierre het muzikale gedeelte voor zich nam,kon Simonne rekenen op steun van 4 vrienden:Marc,Celeste,Vera en Rudy. De bedoeling was om het sentiment en de “ziel van de Argentijnse tango en salons” zoveel mogelijk over te brengen naar hier.

Na 2 jaar besloten Pierre en Simonne echter om definitief te verhuizen naar zuid-Frankrijk en dreigde El Centro verloren te gaan. Vera en ik zagen dat niet zitten en namen de beslissing om de fakkel over te nemen. Na 4 jaar op het adres van Casa 32 vertoefd te hebben,werd het in 2015 tijd om naar een nieuwe locatie uit te zien en kwamen we uiteindelijk op onze huidig adresje terecht:de dansstudio’s 1-2-3 in het centrum van Antwerpen .

Sindsdien vertoeven wij hier elke maand de 2de zaterdag telkens en probeer ik als huis-DJ telkens de beste tandas uit de “Gouden periode van BA” te brengen. Zelf hadden we ook al de eer om Argentijnse koppels te huisvesten zoals o.a. Cristian Correa & Miriam Coppelo / Sebastian Nieva & Celeste Rey/… .

Vandaag vieren we 10 jaar El Centro ! We hebben DJ Marie Jeanne uitgenodigd om te draaien en de gastdocenten Carlos & Mirella Santos David (Europese kampioenen tango de pista 2018),die later op de avond ook een demonstratie zullen geven.

The Argentine pianist presents his solo piano work. Pablo has participated in various musical projects, which have led in particuliar to actual recordings around the interfases of Tango, the Latin-American folk, Jazz fusion and Chamber music: Sergio Poli Ensamble Eléctrico (album "Canícula Metrópolis", a live DVD at the Teatro Argentino, and “Luna de Hielo"), Cuarteto Biraben (album "El lago"), Cacho Castaña (live in the Gran Rex), Cinemática (album "Entre los edificios") and Los Milonguitas (album "Los Milonguitas").
As a soloist he has given concerts of both academic and popular music in numerous theaters and institutions. He has worked as a pianist for Cacho Castaña since 2011, and has collaborated with various orchestras and ensembles, such as the Orquesta de cuerdas MusArt (Chile), Tango Diagonales, Duo Luna-Tobaldi, Adriana Varela, Esquina Carlos Gardel, and Cristina Vilallonga (Gotan Project). Pablo has performed in Argentina, Uruguay, Chile and several European countries. Also, he has worked in musical production and arrangement elaboration, including for symphonical orchestra adaptations.
In 2016 he started his own project, the Sexteto Murgier, in which he is both composer and pianist. The group won in 2017 the First World of Tango Orchestras award at the International Tango Meeting for Musicians in Buenos Aires (Tango Sin Fin Awards). His album MUY LEJOS was nominated for the prestigious Gardel Awards

Special Tango Coaching sessions by Marisa & Oliver

=> The Tango coaching session is a new concept half-way between a private class and a group workshop.
We work with a maximum of 6 couples to be able to give more personal feed-back and corrections to each of them. Although we can propose a movement for each level, the aim is more to "coach" the participants in their personal tango dance. Like in a private class, we will work on the posture, connection, leading, following, musicality, technique, refinement, etc. rather than teaching a new figure. Participants can of course also propose a theme or subject they would like to work.

Level: all levels interested in this coaching session, minimum 6 months tango required.

NB: Reservation of the coaching is compulsory via info@tangueria.be. We advise to book early as places are very limited.

Séances spéciales de coaching de tango par Marisa et Oliver
=> Le Tango coaching est un nouveau concept à mi-chemin entre un cours privé et un atelier de groupe.
Nous travaillons avec un maximum de 6 couples pour pouvoir donner plus de feedback personnel et corrections à chacun d'eux. Bien que nous proposons un mouvement comme point de départ pour tout le groupe, l'objectif est plus de "coacher" les participants dans leur danse de tango personnel. Comme dans un cours privé, nous travaillerons sur la posture, la connexion, le guidage, l'écoute, la musicalité, la technique, le raffinement, etc. plutôt que d'enseigner une nouvelle figure. Les participants peuvent bien sûr proposer un thème ou un sujet qu'ils aimeraient travailler.

Niveau: tous les niveaux intéressés par cette session de coaching, minimum 6 mois de tango requis.

Tango is for everybody: singles and couples, young and old, managers and students: if you can walk, you can learn to dance tango. Tango is a healthy and creative way to keep your body and mind in shape... as such a valid and non-competitive alternative to sports and fitness. And you will meet lots of new friends to go out with!

The classes are taught in English and French. The teachers also speak Dutch, Italian, Spanish, German.

COME AS YOU ARE!
No previous dancing experience is needed, nor any special outfit or shoes. Just come as you want and discover the magic of tango!

Singles who don't have a dancing partner yet can be put in touch with each-other to register together. Therefore, please send your profile (age, height, languages) to info@tangueria.be.

These trial classes are free, but REGISTRATION IS RECOMMENDED, as the number of places is limited and we try to guarantee the balace leaders/Followers. Please register only via info@tangueria.be (your presence on facebook is not a formal registration).

As of September, two new series of weekly INITIATION classes will be proposed in La Tangueria:
- on Monday from 19h till 20h10 by Gaia & Quinten;
- on Wednesday from 20h50 till 22h by Ana & Victor.

Initiated beginners can follow a 1a class in La Tangueria Simonis on Wednesdays from 19h till 20h10.

In these classes we work on the very basic and necessary communication and dissociation mechanisms to increase the liberty of movement and stability. The close embrace is the place where we experience the connection with the other. It is also the place where every single aspect of man and woman are gathered and very often we notice people either don't know there are mechanisms or what belongs to whom. That ends up in very compensating and anticipating behavior; projecting one's energy onto each othet, being in the energetical field of the other, pushing / pulling, generating tensions and blocking movements and bodies. A lot of reasons why it's not / or never working out the way you want.

With these workshops we bring clarity and transparency into the individual mechanisms of man and woman. Working from open towards close embrace to find out the different contact point as leads in the lead and the follow without hindering each other but to compliment each other in movement.

In deze lessen werken we aan de zeer basale en noodzakelijke communicatie- en dissociatiemechanismen om de bewegingsvrijheid en stabiliteit te vergroten. De gesloten embrace is de plaats waar we de connectie met de ander ervaren. Het is eveneens de plaats waar elk aspect van man en vrouw samenkomt en heel vaak merken we dat mensen niet weten of er mechanismen zijn of wat van wie is. Vanaf nu wekelijks en dit telkens op maandagavond vanaf 19u.00 kan men de Argentijnse tango komen oefenen die garant staat voor amusement, sfeer, kwaliteit en professionele aanpak.
Een uitstekende dansvloer en muziekinstallatie is één van de troeven in de enige onvervalste locatie nml. Tangobar Invitado van West Vlaanderen en omstreken!
Een uitgebreid drankenkaart waarvan ook Argentijnse wijnen die rechtstreeks van Argentinië komen zijn een streling voor de liefhebbers.

C’est aussi l’occasion de rencontrer des nouveaux et nouvelles danseurs et danseuses dans un contexte plus intime et familial que celui d’une milonga. Entre 12h45 et 13h45 les professeurs Jessica et Sergio assumeront un rôle actif dans la practica : en répondant à des questions, en aidant à résoudre des problèmes, en donnant des conseilles sur l’exécution d’un mouvement ou sur la technique, en intervenant afin d’améliorer l’interprétation d’une figure.

"Laboratoire musical pour danser le tango"

Laboratoire musical pour améliorer son interprétation du tango à travers la danse.
Le séminaire consistera en deux rencontres intensives durant lesquelles nous analyserons les différents éléments musicaux et stylistiques des grands orchestres typiques.
Dans un langage accessible à tous, des clés seront proposées pour une meilleure compréhension et appréciation de la musique.
Seront analysés, le rythme, les mélodies, les harmonies, les styles, les orchestres et leurs contextes historiques.
Nous écouterons des morceaux en étant attentifs à l'orchestration, puis nous les écouterons à travers le prisme de chaque instrument, pour entraîner la différenciation des différentes sections orchestrales. Cela permettra une meilleure écoute de la musique, plus précise, ouvrant le champs des possibles lors de son interprétation dans la danse.

Camilo Córdoba:
Guitariste - musicien - arrangeur - argentin résidant à Bruxelles depuis 2016.

Au cours de sa carrière de musicien professionnel, qui a débuté vers l’an 2000, il s’est principalement consacré à la musique en direct avec différents groupes de tango (dans toutes ses variantes : traditionnel, contemporain et fusion), des ensembles de musique latino-américaines, et des groupes de musique d'autres genres tels que le blues, le jazz, le rock, la pop, etc.

Depuis 2004 il a participé à environ 50 tournées internationales avec le groupe Violentango en Amérique du Sud, Amérique centrale, Amérique du Nord, Europe et Asie, participant à des festivals importants et à des salles renommées internationalement.
Ce groupe a été déclaré et reconnu d’être "d'Intérêt Culturel" par le Ministère de Culture de la Nation Argentine, entre autres.

Depuis son arrivée à Bruxelles, il fait partie de différents groupes dont le groupe belge SONICO quintet dédié aux compositions d'Eduardo Rovira (compositeur de tango moderne, qui a révolutionné le langage du tango dans les années 1950 en même temps que le grand Astor Piazzolla).
Pendant la saison 2017-18, SONICO a participé à plusieurs festivals, notamment « United Music of Brussels » organisé par la Monnaie et l'Orchestre national de Belgique, ainsi qu'au Brussels Jazz Festival à Flagey. SONICO a également participé à l'inauguration de l'exposition « Een Beetje Belg » au musée Red Star Line à Anvers et s'est produit avec Fernando Otero (quatre fois gagnant du Grammy).
En décembre 2018 "Eduardo Rovira : La Otra Vanguardia" le premier CD du groupe a été choisi dans le top 10 par Billboard magazine dans la catégorie Tango.

Notre introduction au Tango est conçue pour ceux qui sont absolument nouveaux dans le Tango et pour ceux qui souhaitent rejoindre nos cours hebdomadaires par la suite.

Dans un langage accessible à tous, des clés seront proposées pour une meilleure compréhension et appréciation de la musique.
Seront analysés, le rythme, les mélodies, les harmonies, les styles, les orchestres et leurs contextes historiques.
Nous écouterons des morceaux en étant attentifs à l'orchestration, puis nous les écouterons à travers le prisme de chaque instrument, pour entraîner la différenciation des différentes sections orchestrales. Cela permettra une meilleure écoute de la musique, plus précise, ouvrant le champs des possibles lors de son interprétation dans la danse.

Guitariste - musicien - arrangeur - argentin résidant à Bruxelles depuis 2016.

Au cours de sa carrière de musicien professionnel, qui a débuté vers l’an 2000, il s’est principalement consacré à la musique en direct avec différents groupes de tango (dans toutes ses variantes : traditionnel, contemporain et fusion), des ensembles de musique latino-américaines, et des groupes de musique d'autres genres tels que le blues, le jazz, le rock, la pop, etc.

Depuis 2004 il a participé à environ 50 tournées internationales avec le groupe Violentango en Amérique du Sud, Amérique centrale, Amérique du Nord, Europe et Asie, participant à des festivals importants et à des salles renommées internationalement.
Ce groupe a été déclaré et reconnu d’être "d'Intérêt Culturel" par le Ministère de Culture de la Nation Argentine, entre autres.

Depuis son arrivée à Bruxelles, il fait partie de différents groupes dont le groupe belge SONICO quintet dédié aux compositions d'Eduardo Rovira (compositeur de tango moderne, qui a révolutionné le langage du tango dans les années 1950 en même temps que le grand Astor Piazzolla).
Pendant la saison 2017-18, SONICO a participé à plusieurs festivals, notamment « United Music of Brussels » organisé par la Monnaie et l'Orchestre national de Belgique, ainsi qu'au Brussels Jazz Festival à Flagey. SONICO a également participé à l'inauguration de l'exposition « Een Beetje Belg » au musée Red Star Line à Anvers et s'est produit avec Fernando Otero (quatre fois gagnant du Grammy).
En décembre 2018 "Eduardo Rovira : La Otra Vanguardia" le premier CD du groupe a été choisi dans le top 10 par Billboard magazine dans la catégorie Tango.

These classes are experienced as very tranformative due to the nature of the methodology which you can find back on www.tarquino.be - It is becoming aware of those elements and tools which your need, what the priorities are of integration and which ones are inhibiting your progression.

Two hours full of;

1) Warming up, linear and circular movements with change of focus and energy, combined with adornos and change of weight.

2)Working on the development of the communication channel of the embrace, from open to close embrace with various changing directions and dynamics.

3)Development of the dissociation, preparation, discharging energy.

4)Continiuous interchanging practice in group and one-on-one with the teacher.

These courses are for everyone who really wants to develop him/her self as a dancer. Every level of dancer is welcome as interactions are learned and coached on individual possibilities and development.

∇ "El Tango de antes" (days: 13 September, 11 - 25 October, 15 - 29 November, 13 December. )

Thee feeling and the roots of tango: In this course we will explore the reasons why people talk about dancing with the old milongueros feels so great. Both for leader and followers. We will choose a different milonguero every week and analyse their style and moves and how with time these moves became a defining characteristic of tango and are used now a days by profesional and social dancers all over the world. But mainly we will focus in understanding the mind set that make them find their style and why dancers from all generations in argentina always choose to dance with them and talk about how confortable the feeling is. It is also interesting to point out that many of them were dancing at the same time that the music was being composed, so it is fair to say that the music influenced their dance as much as their moves influenced the composers.

∇ "Tango Fantasia" (days: 20 September, 04 -18 October, 08 -  22 November, 06 December.)

In this course we will work on some choreographic elements. The objective is to work in dynamics, lines, utilization of the space, interpretation of music. Elements of Tango Fantasy will be applied. At the end of the course we will make a performance in our practica.

Les Cycles de Tangonomie sont des stages semi-intensifs s’étalant sur 5 semaines, à raison de 5 sessions de 3h (vendredis 18h30-21h30) et d’une journée complète (samedi). Chaque cycle permet de plonger dans l’étude du tango avec un angle d’approche particulier. Les 3 cycles sont conçus comme un tout, comme autant d’étapes d’un voyage.

Le premier cycle, RYTHME, est un travail en profondeur sur ce qui constitue les fondements de notre danse : technique corporelle, répertoire de mouvements, rythmique et musicalité, directions et géométrie de l’espace…

This initiation is short before the start of the new (beginners)classes. 

We learn you how to walk, and a very basic structure for a tango dance. The class is non-stop assisted by Lieve & Gerdy. Every couple is supported so everyone can join in. Booking you can do upfront. But don’t forget bringing your dance partner!

We are going to organize 2 days of workshop.

Program of the workshop is designed to maintain a good balance of different levels. Everyday there will be 1 workshop open for all levels and another workshop for people who participated the first one.
Please keep in mind that it is not obligatory to attend first and then second but it is strongly recommended because it will be connected.
All workshops is available for single participation as well as couple participation. However all workshops will include individual works and Maria will carry out her classes to help how to integrate it in couple synergy too. Therefore it is not just only a workshop for ladies/followers but also a workshop for leaders/men.
