Every Monday — Tango for Starters & Fundamentals

A welcoming tango class for beginners and for dancers who wish to review and strengthen the basics of tango rioplatense.

We work on simple, elegant, musical fundamentals, with attention to floorcraft and personal guidance, so you can feel comfortable on the social dance floor.

Un nouveau cycle exceptionnel de Milonga est lancé !

Ludique, rigolote, légère… ce rythme endiablé nous donne souvent du fil à retordre.
Parfois, on reste assis·es toute la tanda de milonga.
Parfois, on ne sait plus faire la différence entre un tango, une milonga et un vals.
Et dès que ça devient rythmique… on n’ose pas se lancer sur la piste.

La bonne nouvelle, c’est qu’après 34 ans à donner cours de tango, je suis devenue experte en « déblocage de la Milonga » 😉
Incroyable : c’est un diplôme tout neuf, qui n’existait pas auparavant, mais dont plusieurs de mes élèves peuvent témoigner 😉

ATELIER 1 – Initiation à la Milonga

Idéal pour les personnes qui n’ont jamais dansé la milonga,

In this figure-independent workshop, musicality ce will be approached as listening, anticipation, and movement planning.

A moment to meet friends, practice, exchange, and refine your tango on a large, comfortable dance floor.

Working on what is working!

There is so much information in Tango and its teachings that it all might seem a little confusing. And information doesn't need to be. It needs to be clear and practical, also in a dance as Argentine Tango.

If top dancers are able to pull it off, it is possible. And you don't need 20 years of your life to realize it. In these classes we'll give you the tools and mechanisms that you need for your personal development as a man (a leader) & a woman (as the follower). We integrate the mechanisms of communication, dissociation and work with energy (impulse and release of impulse in movement and communication)

These classes are also "working". It's training and integrating. If not, what is the point. 

You pay 20€ for 2 hours of improvement.

Created by award-winning choreographer Astria Apel, the work tells the true and moving story of the passionate and tragic love between Gricel and the renowned Argentine tango poet José María Contursi. Through an innovative fusion of Tango Argentino, Modern Dance, live music, and singing, the production immerses the audience into the bittersweet world of longing, which is at the heart of Tango Argentino.

New musical compositions and arrangements, based on original texts by José María Contursi, have been created specifically for this project by the internationally renowned Argentine musicians “Duo Sonder”. The choreography was developed collaboratively by Astria Apel and renowned Tango Argentino artist Mariano Galeano.
The cast of Tango dancers also includes the renowned Claudio Gonzales & Marcela Vespasiano and Paula Rubin.

As a highlight to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the Martha Graham Dance Company of New York, one of the principal roles will be performed by Christine Dakin, legendary former Principal Dancer and Artistic Director of the Martha Graham Dance Company.

Working on what is working!

There is so much information in Tango and its teachings that it all might seem a little confusing. And information doesn't need to be. It needs to be clear and practical, also in a dance as Argentine Tango.

If top dancers are able to pull it off, it is possible. And you don't need 20 years of your life to realize it. In these classes we'll give you the tools and mechanisms that you need for your personal development as a man (a leader) & a woman (as the follower). We integrate the mechanisms of communication, dissociation and work with energy (impulse and release of impulse in movement and communication)

These classes are also "working". It's training and integrating. If not, what is the point. 

You pay 20€ for 2 hours of improvement.

Cette semaine, Geraldin Rojas revient à Bruxelles ! Danseuse au talent inégalable, elle est considérée à travers le monde comme une des figures les plus importantes et les plus influentes dans l'histoire du Tango. Elle nous fait l'honneur de venir enseigner à Bruxelles.

19h30-20h45: Atelier spécial technique follower avec Geraldin / training technique pour les leaders avec Noé
20h45-22h: Tango tous niveaux

Geraldin va d'abord donner un cours technique spécial follower, c'est la meilleure façon de rentrer dans l'univers de cette maestra exceptionnelle. Pendant ce temps, Noé animera un training technique focalisé sur les mouvements plus spécifiques au rôle de leader. Ensuite, Geraldin et Noé animeront ensemble le cours de tango ouvert à toustes.
Ca se passe à l’école de danse Yantra, à deux pas de Flagey !

20h45-22h: Tango for all

Geraldin will first lead a special technical class for followers—the best way to get a feel for this exceptional maestra’s style. Meanwhile, Noé will lead a technical workshop focused on movements specific to the leader’s role. Afterward, Geraldin and Noé will give together the tango class for everyone.
It all happens at Yantra dance school, next to Flagey !
